Hutchinson responds to the governor's budget addressSPRINGFIELD - State Senator Toi Hutchinson (D - Chicago Heights) released the following statement after today's budget address from Governor Rauner:

“Over the next few months, this proposal will get the scrutiny it deserves as we answer very serious questions about the role of government and our moral responsibility to care for and protect the most vulnerable among us while we steer Illinois out of a very real crisis.

The stakes are too high and these issues are too important for us to make decisions based on false assumptions and ideology. The people of Illinois deserve and demand better than that.”

Hutchinson also appeared on Politics Tonight with Paul Lisnek to discuss the governor's budget address. Click here to watch the interview.
